ABOUT

Richard & Tezen combines the viewpoint and sensibilities of two different cultures
to better connect Japan with the rest of the world.

Sophie Richard is an art historian, author, lecturer and consultant.

Since 2010 she has led a unique research project focused on art museums in Japan.
In 2015 she received the Commissioner’s Award from the Agency of Cultural Affairs in Tokyo, in recognition for her work in bringing Japanese culture to a wider audience.

Wakako Tezen is an art historian, researcher, coordinator and consultant.

She has curated and organized contemporary art exhibitions, symposia on art archive, and artist workshops at museums and educational institutions.

ART BUSINESS CONSULTING

We provide advice for museums and cultural organisations.

We develop strategies to effectively communicate with an international audience in order to attract and inspire more visitors.

We help promote Japanese institutions and events, overseas as well as in Japan.

We promote museums and cultural activities through lectures, publications and presentations. These can be aimed at a foreign audience (both living in Japan or overseas) as well as a domestic audience.

Our tailor-made travel experiences present the best of Japanese art, design and hospitality.

We create exclusive art tours to Japan for art patrons and museum groups from overseas, including museum visits, unique experiences and special access.
